Liberty Love

Hello! I have been blogging for a few years now over at mrsdaftspaniel.blogspot.co.uk and after a LOT of thinking I've decided to start a new blog page! Basically there are two sides to my business; there's the marta's eco crafts side which sells handmade, textile based products and then there's mrsdaftspaniel which is all about crochet and crochet pattern writing. By creating a new blog to focus on my handmade accessories I hope to be able to give both blogs a much better focus and direction.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Marta and I work from home creating pretty things with fabric and yarn! I sell my finished items online via Folksy.com and locally in my home town of Carnoustie, Scotland in a lovely little craft shop called Ollybobbins.

Liberty covered buttons I have made

Lately I have been making lots of new work using Liberty fabric. I love all the floral designs Liberty have produced over the years and I have many samples in my fabric stash, from vintage to the present day. My mum kindly passed on most of her collection to me and I just love looking at it! Recently I have started cutting into it, creating brooches and buttons.

There is a large selection of these brooches, which I designed myself, in Ollybobbins and a few are available in my online shop. I had a lot of fun playing with different fabric combinations and producing exciting colour schemes.

So, my name is Marta and I love Liberty! Thanks for joining me in the start of this new online journey and here's to many colourful blog posts in the future!
